WolfPack Basketball Clinic

Thompson River’s University is pleased to host the first ever “TRU Wolfpack Coaching Clinic,” to take place Friday, October 21st, starting at 8:30 am. Not only will there be four of the top CIS coaches in the country presenting, there are also two exciting basketball games to follow. Come watch as these coaches demonstrate what they taught earlier in the day as their teams play.

4 sessions starting at 8:30 am
8:00 am to 8:30 am – Coffee and Donuts provided
8:30 am to 4:00 pm – Sessions
11:45 am to 1:00 pm – Lunch Break

Cheryl Kryluk – Brandon University
Former head coach University of Western Ontario
Former head coach Medicine Hat College – 5 years
NCCP Level 3 Certification
Master’s Degree in Physical Education

Jon Kreiner – Lakehead University

Former head coach St. Thomas Tommies
Finished 1st in the ACAA in 2003 with an 18-2 record
Course conductor for NCCP
Coach at Nike All-Canada Basketball Camps

Trix Baker – University of Alberta

14 years as head coach at University of Alberta
5 years as an assistant on the Canadian National Basketball Team
In 1998 – 99, finished 36-7 overall, and a National Championship
NCCP Level 4 Certification

Ken Olynyk – Thompson Rivers University

15 years as head coach at University of Toronto
1 year as an observing coach with the Toronto Raptors
Was head coach of Canada’s under 22 National team
Course conductor for NCCP

Clinic Presentations:

– Breakdown drills for teaching motion offense
– Defense from warming up to shell
– Transition offense drills
– Zone Press breaks/Post Drills

Clinic Information:

– NEED MINIMUM OF 30! Registration on a first come first served basis.

First, call 371-5713 to reserve your spot (leave a message if calling in the evening).

Next, mail-in registration form to address below or drop off at TRU Athletics Department.

DEADLINE to register is Tuesday, October 18 2005.

$50.00 fee, Cash or Cheque only. With the $50.00 fee comes tournament passes for the BDO Dunwoody/Interior Savings Credit Union Tournament, and access to the Coach’s Social after the games held at Fogg N’ Sudds Restaurant on Friday night.
