A Golfer from Thompson Rivers University has finished tied for 16 th at the 2013 PING/CCAA Golf Nationals in Quebec City, Quebec.
Brent Pound (2nd year, Kamloops, BC) finished tied for 16 th in the men’s individual event. He shot a final round three over par 75 to finish the 54 hole tournament at six over 222.
Pound had previous rounds of 71 and 76.
Said Coach Bill Bilton Junior: “ Brent played well tee to green. His putting was a little cold again today. He had trouble controlling the spin coming into the greens. However, overall, it was a great experience and he is one step closer to becoming a more complete player. I can’t wait to see him come back next year. He has all the tools to dominate.”
Colton Kalkanis of Georgian College led wire to wire to capture the title. He shot a seven under par 65 at the Quebec Golf and Country club to finish at 15 under par 201.
That was ten shots ahead of the rest of the field. Conditions were sogging again on Friday.
Two University of Fraser Valley golfers finished second and third. Aaron Pauls was at three under par 211. That was one shot better than Darren Whitehouse.
