The Corryn Brown foursome-representing Thompson Rivers University-finished second at the 2016 Western Canadian University curling championships.
The Brown rink lost their final round robin game to the University of Alberta and defending CIS champion Kelsey Rocque 8-3 in Sunday (Feb 28) morning’s final draw at the Saville Center in Edmonton.

Rocque scored two in the second, one in the fifth, two in the sixth and three more in the 8th end. Brown scored her points with two in the fourth and one in the seventh.
Brown was the defending Western Canadian champion. This was the sixth time the two rinks have met in the last three years. TRU has won four times.
The Brown foursome consists of third Erin Pincott, second Samantha Fisher and lead Ashley Nordin.

Both rinks finished the round robin with records of 3-1. Both, along with the Brandon University’s Janelle Vachon will advance to the CIS championship to be held in mid-March in Kelowna. They are hosted by the University of British Columbia Okanagan Heat.

Curling is supported as a club team by the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack but is not a varsity program.
