Brown Ends CIS Curling Championships With Win-Playoff Bound

The Corryn Brown foursome—representing the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack—have qualified for the playoffs at the 2016 CIS Curling Championships.

Round robin play ended Tuesday night (Mar 22) at the Kelowna Curling Club with the WolfPack downing arch rival Kelsey Rocque and the University of Alberta Pandas 10-4.

Brown and her rink which consists of lead Ashley Nordin, second Samantha Fisher and third Erin Pincott erased a 1-0 first end deficit to score singles in the second, third and fifth ends, added four in the eighth and three more in the ninth.

Rocque, who beat Brown to take the 2016 Western Canadian championship and took them last year in the CIS championship final.

Both rinks along with Dalhousie (Kristen Clark) and (Jestyn Murphy) finished the round robin with 5-2 records. Brown had earlier been upended by Brock(Terri Weeks) 7-2 in the early afternoon draw.

On Wednesday morning (Mar 23) in the semi-final: Brown will face Dalhousie while Rocque will face Guelph. Those semi-finals go at 9 am PDT

The winners advance to the gold medal game at 130 pm PDT while the losers will play for bronze at the same time.
