The Thompson Rivers University WolfPack women’s basketball team hit the road for the first time this young Canada West season.
The WolfPack will look for their first victory of the year (0-2) when they visit the University of Manitoba Bisons (0-2) in Winnipeg. The teams will play Friday and Saturday (Nov 11-12).

They are the first of four games in a row on the road for the ‘Pack.”

TRU head coach Scott Reeves has this to say about the games against Manitoba: ““We had a tough start to our season vs a very good UBC team. We have to do a better job of running our offense to get quality looks at the basket. This weekend we don’t face a team in Manitoba that has the size we had to deal with in UBC but they are still a tough match-up. They can shoot the ball from 3 well and are a very good offensive rebounding team. We need to take care of the ball and play fundamentally on the defensive side of the ball.”

The Bisons dropped their first two league games to the University of Calgary DInos. Manitoba is led by Nicole Konieczny who is fourth in Canada West scoring averaging 35 points per game.

After this weekend, TRU returns home but then pays a visit to the University of Alberta Pandas (Nov 18-19). Their next home games on the Warner Rentals Court at the Tournament Capital Centre will be Friday and Saturday November 25-26 against their arch rivals; the University of British Columbia Okanagan Heat. Tip off on the Friday will be 6 pm.

This weekends’ games will be seen on a ‘pay per view’ basis on Canada West TV.
