WolfPack Extinct Dinos, Eliminate Them From CCBC Championships

The Thompson Rivers University WolfPack Baseball team are back to their winning ways as they beat the University of Calgary Dinos 16-11 on Friday. The ‘Pack are now 2-1 in round robin while the Dinos are now 0-3.

Moses Lake native Josh Snider started on the mound for the ‘Pack. He battled through seven innings, allowing nine runs (five earned) on 11 hits, five walks and three hit batters. He also struck out nine Dinos. Duncan Elgert (Calgary, AB) threw two innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on two hits and one walk. He struck out three.

Offensively, the WolfPack scored in five straight innings, including a six run second inning all with two outs to tie the game at the time. Greg Labranche (Maple Ridge, BC) went 2-4 with a double, a triple, three RBI and a run scored. Vance Fode (Bow Island, AB) went 3-4 with a two RBI double and a run scored. Ethan Mohan (Calgary, AB) went 1-3 with three RBIs and three hit by pitches. He also scored twice. Connor McKenzie (Kamloops, BC) went 3-5 with a double, a RBI and two runs scored. Blayne Halland (Kamloops, BC) went 3-5 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Josh Hillis went 1-5 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Malik James (Toronto, ONT) had a base hit and two runs scored. Austin Dundas (Pilot Butte, SASK) went 1-3 and scored twice as well.

The WolfPack will play their last round robin game tomorrow at 10am against the Vancouver Island Baseball Institute Mariners. The rest of the tournament is to be determined.
