It’s become a summertime tradition. The Thompson Rivers University WolfPack men’s volleyball team are returning to Prince George.
The WolfPack will be in the unofficial Northern BC Capital in late August to host their volleyball camps. This is their 11th year.
Head coach Pat Hennelly and his players will be hosting the camp at the College of New Caledonia and Duchess Park Secondary School from August 28-31st.
The camp is open for boys and girls from grades 5-12.
“”I am looking forward to another great camp in Prince George. They have a great volleyball community and club and there are a few excellent players entering grade 12. Ryan Hampe and Cody Boulding are both playing Canada Games this summer and 5 players made the U-16 Provincial team. We have had some great players from Prince George and all the coaches really enjoy going up to Prince George for this week. ”
The camps are broken into different age groups. At CNC, grade 5-7 boys and girls go 9 am to noon. That will be followed by junior boys from 2 pm to 4 pm and an evening session for senior boys from 7-10 pm.
At Duchess Park, Junior girls will be hitting the floor 930-noon and then 130-430 pm. Grade eight boys and girls are set for 5-7 pm with senior girls workouts set up from 7-10 pm.
In the past, Prince George has been a hotbed for recruiting for the WolfPack. Currently, they have one player on their roster: fifth year middle Jordan Foot (a grad of Duchess Park). Foot will be a coach at the camp along with former TRU All-star setter Colin Carson.
To register for the camp: contact either Dan Drezet at email@example.com or Hennelly at firstname.lastname@example.org .
Cost is $150 dollars which includes a t-shirt.
