On Tuesday (Aug 22), they tangled with the Concordia University Caveliers (NCAA Div II) in Portland Oregon. The Pack scored a 2-0 lead to finish their exhibition campaign unbeaten with 3 wins and four ties.
TRU led 1-0 after the first half when rookie Anatoli Leveille (1st year, Winnipeg, MB) was sent in on a partial break away from 10 yards out. The 16 year old rookie was handed a beautiful over the top pass from Jan Pirretas Glasmacher (1st year, Barcelona, Spain).
The other ‘Pack goal was scored on a penalty kick by striker James Fraser (1st year, Penticton, BC).
The ‘clean sheet’ was shared by Brady Van Ryswyk (Penticton, BC) and Lubomir Magdolen (Kamloops, BC). Both are second year players. TRU now begins the Canada West regular season on Saturday (Aug 26) in Prince George, BC against UNBC Timberwolves.

TRU head coach John Antulov:
On unbeaten pre-season: “The great part was that we got a lot of players into the line up to take a look at them and we gradually got better as the exhibition season went along. We have a good group here and it will be very difficult to choose the 22 players who will travel with us this weekend. We got a lot of strong performances. I intend to keep everyone we are carrying now as we will need fresh players as we progress towards Nationals. Everyone here, I want to keep in the program moving forward.”
On Balanced Scoring “ We know that Ryan (Glanville, 5th year, Williams Lake, BC), Justin (Donaldson, 3rd year, Kamloops, BC) and Mitch (Popadynetz, 4th year, Nelson, BC) will get it going. They didn’t play a lot in the exhibition season as we wanted to take a look at everyone. I am very confident that we will get a lot of balance from our offense this season.”
On who stood out in this match: “ We had a lot of quality play from a lot of guys. I thought though that Adam Swanson (3rd year, North Vancouver, BC) and Jan (Pirretas Glasmacher, 1st year, Barcelona, Spain) at center back were very solid. They kept our group together very well.”
On Keeper situation (4 in camp): “We are solid there. There was a great competition between all four. Over the next two or three days, the coaching staff as a group will have to decide who we will utilize this weekend in order to give us the best chance to win.”
