WolfPack Women’s Basketball Close Out Exhibition Weekend With Defeat

The Thompson Rivers University WolfPack closed out their own exhibition women’s basketball tournament with a defeat. The ‘Pack went 0-2 in their tournament on the Warner Rentals court at the Tournament Capital Centre after falling 80-69 to the University of Alberta Pandas.

The WolfPack led 22-15 after the first quarter and led 43-36 at the half.

The Pandas outscored the ‘Pack 44-26 in the second half.

Alberta was led by Emma Kay with 15 points. Elle Hendershot had 14 points while Brianna Carlyon had 11 points and 11 rebounds (seven on the defensive glass).
TRU’s top gunner was guard Leilani Carney (3rd year, Burnaby, BC) with 16 points. Michelle Bos (4th year, guard, Surrey, BC) added 12 points while Makayla Hoey (1st year, guard, Parksville, BC) added 10 points.

The WolfPack begin their 2017-18 Canada West regular season on Friday October 27th at the TCC when they entertain the MacEwan University Griffins. Tip off will be 6 pm.
