WolfPack Swim bring home medals from Snowfest meet

The Thompson Rivers University WolfPack swim team is back from a weekend meet in Kelowna with no less than 18 medals.

Head coach Brad Dalke had eight athletes at the Kelowna Snofest Invitiational meet. They won four gold, seven silver and seven bronze medals.

Leading the way was Matt Gauthier (1st year, Sylvan Lake, AB) who had golds in the 100 and 200 meter freestyle competition setting personal bests.

Joelle Young (2nd year, Fort McMurray, AB) just missed qualifying for the USPORTS finals with her gold medal winning time in the 200 meter breast stroke. Breena Rusnell (3rd year, Fort McMurray, AB) won gold in the 50 meter freestyle event.

Nolan Paul (1st year, Mission, BC) won four silver medals and a bronze medal while Tyler Gauthier won a bronze in the 100 meter freestyle.
As a team, TRU finished sixth out of 12 teams.
