The playoff run for the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack men’s basketball team is over. The WolfPack were eliminated in the Canada West play in game on Thursday night (Feb 8).

The host University of Regina Cougars led from wire to wire en route to a 93-68 win over the visiting WolfPack.

With the victory, the Cougars will move into the Canada West quarterfinals with a best of three series set with the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns on the horizon.

TRU was led by their lone fifth year player. Forward Luke Morris (Mission, BC) had 21 points and 11 rebounds.

Regina had five players in double figures led by Shaquille Harris with 18 points. Brandon Tull had 16 points.


The Cougars jumped out to a 12-5 lead in the first quarter as the WolfPack had trouble getting to second chances. Regina led 29-13 after the first quarter.

TRU outscored Regina 16-14 in the second period. Tull had 14 points to lead the Cougars at the half offensively. The WolfPack were led by Derek Rhodes (4th year, forward, Antioch, CA) with 10 points. Mike Rouault (3rd year, guard, Vernon, BC) had nine.

Samuel Hillis: 16 points, 2 defensive rebounds, 5 assists, 2 blocks: 24 mins

Brian Ofori: 13 points, 7 rebounds (6 def), 3 blocks; 23 mins

Alex Igual: 12 points, 5 rebounds (3 def), 4 steals: 23 mins
