After losing two games to Shoreline Community College yesterday, the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack Baseball team had a chance to go .500 this weekend against the same Shoreline team on Sunday. Sunday didn’t go the ‘Pack’s way either as they lost 6-1 and 11-0.

In game one, five of the six runs the ‘Pack allowed were unearned. Regan Gillis (Fort McMurray, AB) was great in his first start of the preseason, allowing three runs (one earned) on five hits. He didn’t allow a hit until the fourth inning. The right-hander also struck out three batters. Jordy Cunningham (Ladner, BC) allowed three unearned in three innings on four hits and two walks.

Offensively, Liam Rihela (White Rock, BC) went 2-3 with a double and two walks. Vance Fode (Bow Island, AB) went 2-4. Malik James (Toronto, ON) collected a RBI on a bases-loaded walk. He finished 1-3 with two walks. Josiah Williams (Cloverdale, BC) went 1-4 with a run scored and a walk. Connor McKenzie (Kamloops, BC) also collected a base hit.

Washington native Josh Snider started game two on the mound. He tossed five innings, allowing six runs (three earned) on six hits and three walks. He also struck out five batters. Joe Siniscalchi (Burnaby, BC) threw one inning, allowing five runs (four earned) on three hits and two walks.

Matt Pidlisecky (Abbotsford, BC) had the ‘Pack’s only hit in game two.

The WolfPack will be having a hard week of practice this week to regroup and get ready for next weekend when they head to Moses Lake, WA for five games against Big Bend Community College.
