WolfPack Hammer Sea-Hawks to move into tie for First at USPORTS Nationals

The Thompson Rivers University WolfPack have moved into a two way tie for the lead after two days of competition at the 2018 USPORTS Curling Nationals.

TRU, skipped by Corryn Brown moved to 3-1 in round robin play following an 11-6 defeat of Rebecca Roberts and her foursome from Memorial University. The Sea-Hawks fall to 1-3.

The ‘Pack scored three in the first end and never looked back adding two in the third, a steal of three in the fourth, one more in the sixth and two in the ninth end.

Memorial scored their points with a single in the second, two in the fifth and seventh end and one more in the eighth.

Thompson Rivers curled 81 per cent as a team in this game. Brown was 75 per cent, third Erin Pincott curled 82 percent, second Dezaray Hawes had her best game percentage wise at 86. Samantha Fisher, the teams lead curled 83 per cent.

Memorial curled 70 per cent as a team. Roberts herself had a 68 per cent rating.

Thompson Rivers is tied with Brock with records of 3-1.

TRU has two games on Monday (Mar 26). They face 2-2 Wilfred Laurier University Golden Hawks (skipped by Kaitlin Jewer) in the morning draw at 9 AM MDT. And then meet Haylee Jamieson and her 1-3 University of Regina Cougars in the evening draw at 5 AM MDT.
The event wraps up on Wednesday (Mar 28).
