After a couple days between games, the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack baseball team was back in action on Sunday (April 8) as they travelled to complete their weekend series against the Okanagan College Coyotes. Unfortunately, the ‘Pack dropped both on Sunday, losing 2-0 and 12-5.

Tyler Moskalyk (Thunder Bay, ON) threw another gem in game one despite suffering the loss. He tossed a complete game, allowing just two runs (two solo homeruns) and five hits. He struck out eight batters.

Offensively, the ‘Pack got runners on base all game long but couldn’t get any runs across. In total, they left 11 men on base over the course of the game. Liam Rihela (White Rock, BC) and Zac Comeault (Pitt Meadows, BC) both went 2-4. Malik James (Toronto, ON) went 1-2 with a double and two walks. Josh Hillis (Calgary, AB) finished 1-4 with a walk.

In game two, Regan Gillis (Fort McMurray, AB) suffered the loss as he only tossed three innings. He allowed eight runs (five earned) on nine hits and four walks. Gillis struck out two batters. Dillon Ferguson (Kirkland, WA) threw three innings in relief, allowing two runs on two hits while striking out four batters. Bryant Jameus (Kamloops, BC) threw 1 2/3 innings, allowing two run on one hit and three walks.

Vance Fode (Bow Island, AB) went 2-3 with a RBI, a run scored and a walk in game two. Matt Pidlisecky (Abbotsford, BC) went 2-4 with a walk. Josh Hillis and Adam Filmon (Winnipeg, MB) both went 1-4 with a RBI and a walk. Filmon also scored a run. Liam Rihela finished 2-5 with two runs scored.

After this weekend, the WolfPack fall to 3-8 on the season. They will look to turn things around next weekend as they welcome the Vancouver Island Baseball Institute Mariners to town. Game times for Saturday, April 14th are 4pm and 7pm. Game times for Sunday the 15th are 10am and 1pm.
