WolfPack men’s volleyball drop opener of Central Canada exhibition tour

The Thompson Rivers University WolfPack men’s volleyball team opened up their Central Canada exhibition tour with a straight set loss.
Playing at McMaster University in Hamilton, The Pack lost 3-0 to the Maurauders. The scores were 25-18,25-16,29-27.

McMaster is considered to be the top team in the OUA (Ontario University Association) this year.

Thompson Rivers was led by Tim Dobbert (5th year, outside hitter, Aichelberg, Germany) with 12 kills in 22 swings. Anton Napolitano (3rd year, setter, Victoria, Australia) had 25 assists while Landon Currie (2nd year, libero, Vernon, BC) had 10 digs.

Sam Taylor Parks (4th year, middle, Kelowna, BC) had 5 kills in 11 swings.

McMaster was led by Andrew Richards with 10 kills and David Doty with 24 assists.

The WolfPack move to Laval, Quebec for a Friday (Oct 5) match against the Laval Rouge et Or. They wind up their tour on the weekend (Oct 6-7) with matches against the University of Montreal Carabins.

Thompson Rivers opens up their 2018-19 Canada West regular season later this month. Their home opener is Friday, October 23rd on the Warner Rentals court at the Tournament Capital Centre when they entertain the defending U SPORTS champion UBC Thunderbirds . Match time is 6:45 pm.
