THEY SAID IT! (post match quotes):
TRU head coach Chad Grimm
On match: “ We looked a bit nervous. I know it’s our first game playing against a tough opponent but I thought that we were a little bit timid, especially on the defensive end of the ball. We didn’t allow ourselves to play. We hung in there in the first set, had a real tough second set. We got behind in the third but made a pretty good charge late. I didn’t think we found our groove and let it go. Hopefully tomorrow we can relax tomorrow, play the game and have a little bit better performance.”
These two squads will go head-to-head again tomorrow (Sat Oct 20) at the Jack Simpson Gym at the University of Calgary. Match time will be 4 pm MDT.
The WolfPack will return home to prepare for their own home opener. That will come up Friday, October 26th on the Warner Rentals court at the Tournament Capital Centre. Their opponents will be the U SPORTS Bronze medal winners from last year: the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds. Match time will be 5 pm. It will be a “McDonalds” sponsored weekend.
