Baseball to play for bronze medal at National College baseball championships

The Thompson Rivers University WolfPack will play for a bronze medal at the National College baseball championships.

The WolfPack lost their semi final game Friday (Oct 26) afternoon 9-6 to the St. Clair Saints of Ontario. It was the second meeting between the two squads at the National championships. On Thursday (Oct 25) The Saints beat TRU 1-0.

In this game, the WolfPack led 6-0 after the first two innings. But the Saints scored three runs in the third inning and added six more in the fourth.

They had seven hits in the ball game to TRU’s six.

Tyler Hodder (Fort McMurray, AB) took the loss. He started and went three and two thirds innings giving up six hits, all nine runs, five walks and struck out two.

Offensively: Malik James (Whitby, ON) and Adam Filmon (Winnipeg, MB) had doubles.   James was one for three and had two runs batted in.

Taylor Van Ham (Medicine Hat, AB), Liam Shibata (Abbotsford, BC) and Filmon all had runs batted in.

The WolfPack have a record of 1 and 3 at the Nationals and will play for the bronze medal on Saturday at 1 pm EDT against either Fanshawe Falcons or Humber Hawks. They were playing in the other semi final Friday afternoon.
