For the second straight year, the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack are coming home with a silver from the CIS Curling Nationals.

The WolfPack, skipped again by Corryn Brown finished second after losing to the University of Alberta Pandas skipped by Kelsey Rocque in the gold medal final. The score in an extra end was 5-4 in favor of Alberta. The CIS Nationals were hosted by the University of British Columbia Okanagan and the Kelowna Curling Club.

The Pandas and WolfPack swapped points in the first two ends. Alberta added one in the third, sixth, tenth and stole one in the 11th.
TRU had singles in the second, fifth, eighth and stole one in the ninth end.

This was a rematch of last year’s gold medal match which was won by Rocque. The two teams also met again this year in the Western Canadian championships which Alberta was victorious in.

The WolfPack foursome consisted of lead Ashley Nordin, second Samantha Fisher, third Erin Pincott and Brown.

TRU and Alberta went through the round robin in a tie for first place at 5-2 with Guelph and Dalhousie. Guelph won the bronze medal with an 11-7 win over Dalhousie.

Nordin, Pincott and Brown were named CIS First Team All-Canadians. Fisher was on the CIS Second All Canadian team. The selections are based on their curling percentages during the round robin portion of the event.
