The Thompson Rivers University WolfPack baseball team began their Fall exhibition season on a positive note.
The WolfPack are hosting a team from the Dominican Republic-Universidad Technologica de Santiago.
Wednesday night (Sept 13) at Norbrock Stadium, Thompson Rivers beat UTESA 12-7. Two time Canadian Collegiate Baseball Conference all-star Tyler Hodder got the victory. He pitched five innings giving up seven hits, six runs (3 earned), walked three and struck out seven.
Offensively, TRU was led by Liam Rihela who was 1 for 2 with a homer, a walk and two runs batted in.
Veteran Josh Snider was 2 for 3 with two runs batted in. Rookie Cole Paquin added two RBI’s as he wsa two for three.
The teams will meet again tonight (Sept 14), tomorrow (Sept 15), Saturday (Sept 16) and Sunday (Sept 17) at Norbrock. All but the Sunday game are 6 pm start times. Sunday’s final contest is a noon start. Its admission by donation.
