WolfPack men’s basketball winning streak snapped at eight

There is a saying that all good things must come to an end. For the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack men’s basketball team, they found that out on Saturday night (Jan 27).

Playing at the Langley Events Centre, the ‘Pack saw their eight game Canada West winning streak come to a halt. They were beaten by the Trinity Western University Spartans 81-74.

The win was Trinity’s second of the year.

Joe Davis (3rd year, forward, Kamloops, BC) who was celebrating his birthday was the leading scorer for TRU with 20 points.
The WolfPack return home to close out their regular season next weekend hosting the Brandon University Bobcats

SYNOPSIS

The ‘Pack trailed by three (23-20) after the first quarter and were outscored 23-19 in the third quarter. Turnovers were the main thorn in the WolfPack’s fortunes on this night as they had 10 in the ball game compared to one for the Spartans.

TRU will return home to play their final two games of the regular season as they entertain the Brandon University Bobcats on the Warner Rentals court. Those games are (Feb 2-3), the final weekend of the Canada West season. The WolfPack will honor their lone fifth year player, Luke Morris of Mission Secondary on Saturday night.
