McRae wins and continues to improve at U.S. Nationals

Kamloops swimmer Ryley McRae continues to make a name for himself at the U.S. Grand Prix Swim championships being held in Knoxville, Tennessee.

The Thompson Rivers University WolfPack member swam two events on Thursday (Jan 10).

He opened the day qualifying for the “D” final in the 200 metre freestyle. In the final, he won the event shaving two seconds off his previous in season best time. McRae wound up in a time of 1 minute, 56 point 39 seconds.

The other race he competed in was the 100 meter butterfly where he wound up 37 th.

“Ryley is starting to gain confidence in his racing at this level,” says WolfPack head coach Brad Dalke.

The event continues on Friday (Jan 11).
